Fabrique des Lumieres is an immersive audiovisual project launched in 2018 in Paris by Culturespaces.Their mission was simple and innovative: take the greatest works in art history and present them at a scale never seen before. They use movement and music to create or highlight stories from the artpieces.
The project has since expanded to New York, Bordeaux, Seoul and Amsterdam, with each location adapting the concept to the locations architecture. The Amsterdam edition opened on 22 April 2022 in the Westergasfabriek: the cultural park of amsterdam, once a 4-hectare complex of gasometers, coal depots, boiler rooms and water towers.
Since then, more than three million people have enjoyed the art of Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Gstav Klimt and Salvador Dali.
